SUBJECT: Sherburne County Fair Parade Information
The Sherburne County Fair parade is scheduled for Friday, July 15. Attached is information
regarding the parade. Lineup information was not available as of the writing of this memo
but can be obtained by visiting the fair website at ~ytivw.sherburnecou.ntyfair.or~. Candy will
be available on the truck to distribute to the public.

parade committee suggests that all units enter the line-up area from the east end of
Elk
River to avoid having to make U-turns.
Entries received prior to the specified deadline will receive a postcard with their unit
posifion approximately 4 days before the parade. Line-up will also be posted on this _ ~
website and will be updated frequently. ~~ ~ --_ ~`:~

fairgrounds at the corner of Joplin.
- ~ There are no bathrooms in the line-up area or along the parade route, so please plan
accordingly!

For ease of traffic flow, please enter the parade line-up from the east (the side closer

to
Historic downtown Elk River). All parade units will be facing the west, the second half
the units will be lined up on the wrong side of the road.
Please avoid having cars drop off parade participants on Main Street. Plan for your
group to meetidrop off on side streets along the parade line-up area. We only want
the
vehicles that will be pulling floats/part of the parade to enter the line-up area.

I~ If ; ~ When you get to your line-up spot, please snug up to the unit before you. We have
designated specific footage for each unit (based on the measurement you provided on
your entry form), and don't have much allowances for extra space between.

The parade ends behind the fairgrounds at the intersection of Orono Parkway and
Joplin
Ave. Please plan to meet your group somewhere like the fairgrounds parking lot, near
the east Main Entrance gate. Stopping along Joplin Ave causes a lot of traffic issues.

SUBJECT: Sherburne County Economic Development Authority
On August 5`'', 2008 the Sherburne County Commission adopted a resolution enabling
creation of an Economic Development Authority, excluding the power to levy.
On May 315C, 2011 the Sherburne County Commission appointed Annie Deckert, Director
of Economic Development to the Economic Development Authority Board (District 1) for
a two year term.
The EDA has since met twice to establish a business subsidy policy, agreement and TIF
District proposed to be used to facilitate construction of an approximately 65,000 square
foot expansion to the existing Appert's Foodservice facility in Haven Township. Staff will
continue to attend meetings as needed and update the Council as necessary.
