Hearing for Closing of Sunshine Depot
On September 23, 1997, the Council scheduled a hearing to review the liquor
license for John Purmort dba the Sunshine Depot. The on-sale license for the
Sunshine Depot has since been transferred to Rob VanValkenburg. Because
this transfer has transpired, there is no reason to hold the hearing on the
City's behalf. However, Mr. Purmort has the option to discuss the situation
with the council at this time. He has been informed that the hearing is on
the October 6, 1997, Council agenda.
ACTION REQUESTED:
No action is necessary if the City or Council receives no response from Mr.
Purmort.
If Mr. Purmort does request a hearing, then the council would act as the
liquor hearing examiner and consider the City's allegations and Mr.
Purmort's response to the allegations. The Council has the authority to
suspend, revoke or order a fine for violations. (Because Mr. Purmort no
longer owns the Sunshine Depot, this may be a moot issue).
