This year Craig Johnson from the League of Minnesota Cities is tentatively scheduled to speak about the "Connection Between Sewer & Water Investment and Economic Development". This is an interesting topic which directly relates to why a municipal utility has the right to grow with its city. The conference was budgeted for two staff and one commissioner to attend. The program is attached for review. s MMUa's 79th Annual Summer Conference MMUA's 79th Annual Summer Meeting will be held at Breezy Point Resort in Breezy Point, Minnesota. Our annual bike ride and golf tournament will be held on Monday afternoon before the start of the meeting. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun, warm weather and exerase in beautiful northern Minnesota. We will end Monday with our evening BBO. A full slate of interesting speakers are lined up for Tuesday and Wednesday. Refer to the program for topics and speaker information. June's fee should be $1,957.50. June marks the one year anniversary of having credit cards in place. Since implementing the fully absorbed rate in October 2010, the monthly fees have averaged approximately $1,800. • We have seen the credit card use steadily increase since its introduction a year ago, with a small decline in one month (May 2011). Approximately 6% of the credit card usage has been in collecting the shut off payments and it has been a huge convenience for the customers who can't make it to the office during our business hours to pay their bill in order to have service restored. It also eliminates the opportunity for verbal hostilities to be voiced by the offenders, and staff has been appreciative of that. • Accounts Receivable % outstanding remains consistent from the prior year. We will continue to monitor this and hope to see a decrease. • As noted in the write-offs this quarter, they are smaller this year and that could be attributed to credit card payment versus no payment previously. This too will continue to be monitored. We are still working on the final implementation of billing information available online at our website. One update is that we will be able to have a rolling 18 months of history available fot our customers to view past bills. Rd. 30 west of Waco from 2400 volts to 7200 volts. • Upgraded the Elk Motel service. • Disconnected the Spectrum School on Co. Rd. 12. We also have to do some work at the new building they aze moving into. • Had one new service. • Had some secondazy underground services go bad. We fault locate the wire and repair or replace the service depending on the age and condition of the wire. • We had some storms go thru causing some damage. With the storm on June 2151 lightning hit a recloser at the west sub bank one causing the sub to trip off line. We put a spare recloser in until the one hit by lightning gets fixed. We also had our station 14 bank three trip off line after a tree fell on the triple deck overhead line. The storm on July 15` caused a feeder to trip out at the north sub after a tree fell on the wires. We also had some single taps out with both storms caused by lightning and trees. • Connexus called and asked for mutual aid. Chad and Lex went to help on July 2"d and 3rd. The Meter Department helped the Line Department in changing out a recloser that was hit by lightning at the West Substation. They continue with the monthly and weekly substation checks, load control issues as they come up, and changing out electric meters to ERTed meters. They are also helping the Water Department change water meters. The generators were exercised for their monthly run on June 28'". The run went very well again producing 6.04 M W to GRE. ERMU's peak load last month happened at 3:00 p.m. on June 30`" with a total of 55.5 MW. The Locating department had a total of 3401ocate tickets, one of them being an emergency ticket. The locating staff was involved in a big locating project in the northern area of our service territory, locating for CATV expansion.
