Council is asked to approve the advertisement of bids for the Public Works Facility-Bid Package 1
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Over the past several months the Public Works Committee has been working with the Architect 292
Design Group and RJM construction on the preconstruction process. On July 11, 2011, 292 Design
Group and RJM construction provided an update on the project. The project is broken into two phases:
site preparation and construction. At this time the Public Works Committee is asking authorization to
proceed with Phase 1 advertisement for bids for the site preparation work.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
RJM estimates the project budget on Phase 1 to range between $637,000 and $685,000. The funding for
Phase I will be out of the government building fund with a transfer from the municipal liquor enterprise
fund once the bids are approved by Council.
