Department Updates
Applications are currently being reviewed for the Parks and Recreation Director position.
The posting will remain open until filled. The Commission will be continually updated on
the hiring process.
At the July 18`s City Council meeting discussion was held regarding the recreation facility use
policy. Concern has been raised about the approach of youth athletic associations having
priority for recreation facilities over City operated programs. After the discussion the
Council directed staff to revisit the policy and focus on an approach that meets the needs of
residents as well as protecting and balancing the needs of both organizations. The policy will
be reviewed at a future Council meeting.
