Council motion approving a pyrotechnic fireworks display license for RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. to
conduct a pyrotechnic display at Elk River High School during football games on September 1 and 23,
subject to the following conditions:
1. RES Specialty shall arrange for a site inspection by the Fire Department the day of the
pyrotechnic display(s).
2. Fire Department may make necessary modifications to the permit's approval based on final
review of the application.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Staff received an application late Thursday afternoon from RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. requesting a
pyrotechnic display license in order to light a large fireworks display during two Elk River High School
football games. The dates of the firework displays are September 1 and 23.
The Fire Department has provided preliminary approval of the application, but due to the late timing of
the application, the Fire Department would like to reserve the right to make any necessary modifications
upon final review.
The Fireworks Operator Certification has been verified with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
