Action Requested
Extension of Conditional Use Permit Approval for two years, expiring March 15, 2014.
Background
The City Council granted a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the Sharp Ministorage on Gateway Road
on the north side of Furniture and Things in March 2010. Since then, Mr. Sharp has not been able to
begin construction due to the economy and other factors. Mr. Sharp has requested a two year extension
until March 2014.
The City has received a number of requests for extensions that have been approved when received prior
to the CUP approval expiring.

Please accept this letter as our request for a two year extension of our permit (Case No.
CU10-O1 attached) for the construction of storage facilities in Elk River.
We had expected to start this project in 2010, however the economy has not been conducive
for this project and we are proposing a start in 2012 or 2013 at the latest.
