ACTION REQUESTED
Council approval of a temporary on-sale liquor license to the Elk River Area Arts Alliance for Thursday,
October 20, 2011, subject to the following conditions:
1. The wine tasting may not exceed four hours in duration (MN Statute 340a.418, .rubd. 2a).
2. No wine at a wine tasting under this section may be sold, or orders taken, fox off-premises
consumption (M1V Statute 340a.418, .rubd. 2c).
3. Receipt of a certificate of insurance including liquor liability and coverage in at least the sum of
$100,000 for injury to any one person, $300,000 for injury. to more than one person, and $25,000
fox property damage, naming the city and the HRA as an additional insured during the licensing
period.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Elk River Area Arts Alliance is requesting to hold a wine tasting in the art gallery area of their
building at 716 Main Street on Thursday, October 20. The wine tasting will be in conjunction with the
Arts Alliance "Downtown ArtCrawl" taking place that same day. The Arts Alliance has submitted all the
necessary application materials.
