Adopt attached resolution acknowledging the $4,000 monetary contribution from The Eddy Foundation
and the $100 monetary contribution from Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch pursuant to Minnesota State
Statute 465.03. Statute requires that resolutions axe adopted by a 2/3 majority vote.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Representatives from The Eddy Foundation were present at the September 19, 2011, City Council
meeting and presented $2,000 to the Elk Rivex Fire Department and $2,000 to the Elk River Police
Department.
The Police Department has also received a $100 donation from Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Eddy Foundation donated a total of $4,000 to the City of Elk River. The Fire Department will use
their $2,000 to purchase firefighting and rescue equipment. The Police Department will use their $2,000
to cover the department's share of implementing Project Life Saver and to purchase department holsters.
The Police Department will use Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch's donation to purchase equipment.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $2,000 donation from the Eddy Family
Foundation with the intent it be used by the Elk River Fire Department to purchase
firefighting and rescue equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $2,000 donation from the Eddy Family
Foundation with the intent it be used by the Elk River Police Department for the
department's share of implementing Project Life Saver and to purchase department holsters;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $100 donation from Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious
Goblirsch with the intent it be used to purchase law enforcement equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River,
by at least a two-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend the Eddy
Foundation and Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch for their contributions.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 3`d day of October
2011.
