Council motion approving a pyrotechnic fireworks display license for RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. to
conduct a pyrotechnic display at Elk River High School during football games on October 14, 19, and 25,
subject to the following conditions:
1. RES Specialty shall arrange for a site inspection by the Fire Department the day of the
pyrotechnic display(s).
2. Fire Department may make necessary modifications to the permit's approval.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. has applied for a pyrotechnic display license in order to light a large
fireworks display during three Elk River High School football games. RES received approval in August to
conduct pyrotechnic displays during High School football games on September 1 and 23. This application
is for three additional games: October 14, 15, and 25 (tentative based on playoffs).
The Fireworks Operator Certification has been verified with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
