1. Council is asked to approve the contracts for the Public Works Facility-Phase I (Electrical and
Fencing)
2. Council is asked to re-assign the contracts to RJM Construction in accordance with our
Construction Manager at risk agreement.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On September 19, 2011, the City Council approved a number of contracts fox the public works phase I-
site improvements. One contract not approved that night was the salt storage shed relocation bid
package which included electrical and fencing for the site improvements on phase I (fuel island etc.). At
this time we are not moving forward with the salt storage shed relocation. RJM has solicited quotes for
the electrical (fuel island) and fencing (compost area) and recommends awarding contracts to the
following companies listed below:
Electrical
Rike-Lee Electric - $21,550
Fenc>ng
Dakota Unlmited - $22,375
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Phase I is funded out of the government building fund.

RJM requested quotes for electrical and fencing for Elk River Public Works Bid Package #1. Attached are the bid
summaries and the quotes.
RJM recommends electrical be awarded to Rike-Lee Electric for $21,550. RJM has reviewed the Rike-Lee's bid and
confirmed he included the scope of work required.
RJM recommends fencing be awarded to Dakota Unlimited for $22,375.
