Conditional use Permit Request by Elk
River Shopping Center, Public
Hearing Case No. CU 97-29
Request
Elk River Shopping Center is requesting a Conditional Use Permit to expand
the Elk River Theaters from 10 to 18 movie screens.
Background
This item was postponed at the last City Council meeting to allow the
negotiations to be completed with the new theater group. These negotiations
have not been completed at this time; therefore, the applicants are requesting
a postponement until February 17, 1998.
Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council postpone action on the requested
conditional use permit by Elk River Shopping Center until the February 17,
1998, City Council meeting.

The owners of The Elk River Shopping Center have asked that two items scheduled to
be considered by the Elk River City Council on January 20, 1998 that relate to.
Conditional Use Permits for the theater expansion and "The Gym" be postponed until
February 19, 1998.
The final negotiations with the new theater group have not been completed.
