ACQUIRING SNOWMOBmE(S)
Item 4.9.
At your direction, I looked into the possibility of the City leasing snowmobile(s) for the police
department. We found that none of the manufacturers are offering a lease program; however,
they are offering significant price reduction if'we were interested in purchasing snowmobile(s).
The best quote appears to be River-view Sports which is offering a 1998 Yamaha 600 XTC with a
three (3) year warranty for $4,451.00 (four thousand, four hundred and fifty-one dollars). This
price would be a savings of approximately $2,000.00 (two thousand dollars) for one snowmobile.
If you decide to purchase, we could purchase two (2) at this time; or, one (1) now and one (1)
this fall. Our preference would be two (2) snowmobiles so our officers, for safety reasons, could
work as a team.

In order to support law enforcement in their efforts to make snowmobling safer we're pleased to
announce the following program:
QUALIFIED RETAIL BUYERS
- The following program is available to the Sherrif's Departments, Police of Chiefs, and state
Department of Natural Resources. In addition, ail sales require the PRIOR approval of Pat
Hartman in the Minneapolis office.
- Interested law enforcement agencies should contact Pat Hartman at our Minneapolis office.
- We will require the following from qualified law enforcement agencies:
- A valid, signed, purchase order made out to Polaris Industries Inc. The purchase order
must be made out to Polaris Industries Inc, Attn: Pat Hartman, 1225 North Hwy 169,
Plymouth Mn., 55441 and state the following.
- The quantity of units and the extended amount.
- Payment terms are net 30 days from date of purchase order.
- That the units will not be resold for a period of one year from date of
registration.
- That the units will be used for law enforcement purposes only and will be
operated only by experienced officers.
- The requested delivery date.
- The requested dealership to which the units will be delivered.
- Pat Hartman will notify you if the buyer has been approved and the approximate ship date.
