This conference serves as MMUA's organized joint action opportunity to inform our state legislators of municipal public power's concerns and utilities related state legislation's impact to main street in our communities. The morning of Thursday February 90', the conference attendees will travel to the State Capitol and meet with our local legislators and the legislative leadership. The conference brochure is attached. On December 2, 2011, ERMU's legal counsel and I attended the MMUA 2011 Legal Seminar. The seminar program included the following topics: Disaster Management, Utilities and Real Property Litigafion, Utilities Finance, Employment Law, Government Data Practices, and Utility Billing. Attendance was well worth my 6me to become updated and informed on these topics and their legal concerns. The fee for November should be $2,329. (We have decreased usage from October when the onset of the cold weather rule deadline was happening.) The new credit card interface was not ready to test until December 6`f', 2011, rather than November 21s`. This is the new interface that will allow customers to obtain their accomit balance information, view bills, and make and schedule payments online. Given the shorter time frame to fully test and make changes before the bills will need to be ready to go out this month, we will be implementing this interface in January. Inventory dates have been set for year end and an auditor will be out here for the electric inventory to do test counts on December 20E~. The preliminary audit fieldwork will be Monday, January 9"' with Mark Ebensteiner and Andy Berg on site for the day. The actual audit fieldwork dates have yet to be determined but the first week of March is the target. We sent out a letter to all security customers concerning VOID issues. • The Meter shop continues changing electric and water meters. • Staff is starting Energy Audits this month. • Landfill Gas Plant swapped out an engine for a new one. • The power plant staff did the monthly run of the generators. It went very well although there is a problem with a nozzle that is letting fuel run into the cylinders after shutdown. We aze working on getting that repaired.
