BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION
Over the past several months, the Public Works Committee has been working with Architect 292 Design
Group and RJM Construction on the preconstruction process and Phase 1 (site preparation). Pam
Anderson, 292 Design Group, and Brian Recker, RJM Construction, will be in attendance at the meeting
to present an overview of Phase II (construction). At this time, the Public Works Committee is asking
fox authorization to proceed with the Phase II advertisement for bids.
Estimated timeline for phase II:
Council Approval fox Advertisement to Bid January 9, 2012
Receive Bids for Phase II January 31, 2012
Ciry Council Award of Phase II Contractors February 21, 2012
Phase II Construction Apri12, 2012 -January 15, 2013
FINANCIAL IMPACT
RJM has completed a 95% of construction document budget estimate for the project. The total
construction estimate including Phase I is $8,886,235. The overall cost, including owner costs (FF&E)
and design fees, is estimated at $9,579,135. The funding for the project will be the issuance of Capital
Improvement Plan bonds and the previously approved transfer from the Liquor Fund. All repayments of
principal and interest will be from the Government Building Fund.
