Out of State Conference
On February 9th through the 13th, 1998, the University of Wisconsin,
Madison, will be hosting their 28th annual building inspection seminar. The
courses will be on mechanical systems, installation and code requirements,
and inspection techniques and procedures. Sessions will focus on developing
the inspector's understanding of present day construction technology and the
installation of mechanical systems in accordance with local building codes.
Exposure to new technology and learning experiences with mechanical
systems will provide the basis for in-depth mechanical inspection training.
Attached is an outline of the seminar. The total cost of this seminar for
travel expenses, lodging, and the seminar itself, is estimated at about $900.
Therefore, at this time I am asking the Mayor and City Council to grant
permission for me to attend this five day seminar in Madison Wisconsin.

years experience in mechanical
contracting and construction,
followed by 16 years of building
code administration; bachelor of
science degree in engineering and
technology and further training in
special equipment and services.
Mr. Sebastian serves on the Educa-
tion Testing Services Committee at
Princeton, N.J. and is presently
serving as committee chairman for
the mechanical advisory committee
of the national certification program
for construction code inspectors. He
also is a member of the BOCA
national mechanical committee and
was recently appointed as a member
of the International Mechanical Code
Development Hearing Committee.
