The Council is asked to publically recognize .Police Chief Bradley R. Rolfe for his 30 years of service to
the citizens of Elk River.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Chief Bradley R. Rolfe was hired by the Elk River Police Department as a patrol officer on January 4,
1982. Since starting his employment with the department, he has held a variety of positions and
assignments. In 1985, he was promoted to corporal and was promoted to the rank of sergeant the
following year. In 2003, following the retirement of Chief Zerwas, Chief Rolfe was promoted to captain.
Following the retirement of former Chief Beahen in 2010, Chief Rolfe was chosen as his successor.
Chief Rolfe was the founder and former team leader of the SWAT team, a former commander of the
honor guard, and a senior firearms instructor. He has received various letters of recognition,
commendations, and departmental awards during his career.
