Consider Resolution Authorizing Grant
Agreement
Fire Chief Bruce West has indicated that applied to receive a grant
to assist in the funding of the full-scale emergency operations
exercise planned for April 22, 1998. Bruce has indicated that once
the grant agreement is executed, the city will receive $1,500 from the
State of Minnesota.
ACTION REQUESTED
Motion to adopt the attached resolution.

A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF GRANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has been given a grant by the U.S. Department
of Transportation under the Hazardous Materials Emergency
Preparedness (HMEP) Program; and
WHEREAS, the city of Elk River has applied in good faith for HMEP monies for a
full-scale exercise scheduled for April 22, 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk
River fully agrees to the terms of the grant, and, with the passage of
this resolution, officially requests the Division of Emergency
Management to enforce the contract in accordance with the applicable
rules and regulations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Bruce A. West and Lori Johnson be and
hereby are authorized to execute the agreement and thereby assume for and
on behalf of the city of Elk River all of the contractual obligations contained
therein.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 2nd day of
March 1998.
