ACTION REQUESTED
Authorization to purchase an Aieres camera/video system in the amount of $114,342.36.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The 2012 Wastewater Treatment budget has fiznding for the purchase of a video trailer system for
televising sanitary sewer lines in the collection system. This will enable us to maintain the system at a
higher level, thus providing a more progressive maintenance system. Just last week we had a resident who
was having sewer problems so staff spent almost the whole day jetting the main that serves his property
only to find out that his line was the actual problem. With the camera we could have videoed our line and
proved that the main was open and functioning properly.
The camera system is available on the state contract in the amount of $114,342.36 from Flexible Pipe
Tool.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The 2012 Wastewater Treatment budget has $120,000 budgeted for a camera system. The actual cost of
the camera is $114,342.36 (including sales tax).
