Staff recommends the Parks and Recreation Commission support the donations of trees from the Lions
Club.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
RodneySchreifels was contacted bythe local Lions Club to donate up to 25-trees to the Parks and
Recreation Department. The planting sites can be detemuned by staff. The tree species chosen are:
Emerald Maple, Northern Acclaim Honey locust, Robusta Poplar and American Linden. These are 6'
bare root saplings. The Club will donate plant and maintain the trees for one year. This tree program
was started bythe Lions Club International President challenging each local Club to plant some trees in
their community.
Staff is recommending the Commission support the tree donations from the Lions Club.
