Dear Mr. Clough,
Mr. Morrell's trucking operation, located in the southwest comer of School Street and
Jackson Avenue, is a legally grandfathered-in business. Although a truck terminal may
not be a desirable business to live next to, that fact does not make his operation or the
associated noise, odor, and fumes '~llegal.
Obviously, a truck terminal is not a compatible land use adjacent to residences. The city
could pursue certain legal options to try to force Mr. Morrell's operation out of its current
location, but these options are costly and it is questionable whether or not they would be
successful.
Mr. Morrell is still pursuing a relocation. At this time, the city's interests are best served
by encouraging him to move.
