SUBJECT: LAKE ORONO IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT
Sherbume County contributed a total of $9,000 toward the Lake Orono Water Quality
and Sedimentation Study in 1996 and 1997. This cooperation was greatly appreciated.
On February 17, 1998 city staff presented the results of the study and the Lake Orono
Sedimentation Task Force's recommendation on a lake improvement project to the
Sherbume County Board. The County Board was interested in the project and indicated
that they would consider contributing toward its cost. The City Council may wish to
inquire if the Board has had a chance to consider this issue.
