ACTION REQUESTED
Approve the hiring of Anthony Seibert to the Ice Arena Lead Worker position beginning at step A of pay
grade 5 effective May 8, 2012.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In February, Ice Arena Lead Worker Dennis Walker was promoted to the Maintenance Supervisor
position. Staff went to market to fill the Lead Worker position. We received 39 applications and
interviewed six candidates.
Tony Seibert has been working at the ice arena in a part-time position since July 2005. He has proven to
be a hardworking and dedicated employee. During the recent staffing transitions, Tony was very
accommodating to scheduling needs and took on the leadership role whenever necessary.
Tony is ready to begin this position on May 8, 2012, at step A of pay grade 5. Provided satisfactory
performance, he will be eligible for any 2013 cost of living adjustment given to non-organized employees
and, as well, a step increase on July 1, 2013.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a budgeted position.
