I would like to heartily endorse your efforts on the block at the intersection of Jackson & Main. This project will
compliment and form a capstone to your efforts to revitalize downtown Elk River. You have boldly moved forward while
other municipalities have given less than full support to similar areas of their cities.. The design was developed such that
consideration and input has been made with all stakeholders in mind. We are currently upgrading the exterior of our
building to revert back to a more historic design. Other parcels are considering similar renovations. Your investment
will accelerate this redevelopment and enhance the cammunity as a whole.
We are all proud of our downtown area and appreciate the support this project demonstrates to the area business
cammunity.

Good afternoon,
Tonight, the HRA will be considering moving forward with Peterson & Companies to complete Main Street
Parking Plaza in downtown Elk River. The HRA approved the concept design for the parking lot at their April 2
meeting (several of the downtown business owners were in attendance) and authorized staff to go out for bid
for the project. Staff and Landform consultants worked together to create the final plan for Main Street
Parking Plaza (plan attached) following concept approval. Bid opening was held on May 2 at City Hall.
If approved, staff will work to finalize the contracts with Peterson Companies and begin work on the project
within the next two weeks. More details will be provided as we move forward with the project. Staff will
work with the contractors Staff will be at the Downtown River's Edge Business Association meeting on
Wednesday, May 9 at 2:30 pm at the Elk River Arts Alliance downtown to answer any questions regarding
the project.
The project is scheduled to be completed on or before June 22, 2012. Opening day for the Farmer's Market
will be Thursday, June 28.
We appreciate your support, patience cooperation moving forward with this project and understand it's
important we do all we canto ensure a smooth construction process. I understand it can be difficult to attend
the River's Edge meetings- please feel free to call or email me at any time with questions.
