ACTION REQUESTED
Staff recommends continuing the contracts with Complete Grounds Maintenance for lawn abatement at
$25 per hour and Larson Companies for junk abatement at $38 per hour.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Every couple of years, code enforcement staff seeks bids from contractors to do grass abatement and
junk abatement. In the past, if staff was pleased with the performance of the contractor (responsive,
professional, and punctual) and the rates did not increase, the agreement was carried forward for a second
year.
Last year, the grass abatement contractor was Complete Grounds Maintenance at a rate of $25 per hour.
Staff recommends the Council name them as the contractor for 2012.
Additionally, last year, Larson Companies was named as the junk abatement contractor. Larson charged
$38 per hour and that price is the same this year. Staff recommends the Council name them as the
contractor for 2012.
