Request by the City of Elk River for a
Conditional Use Permit, Public
Hearing Case No. CU 98-3
Request
This is a re-submittal of the conditional use permit request dated March 16,
1998, that was postponed by the City Council, for the City of Elk River to
operate a nonprofit recreational facility at the former Prairie House
restaurant site. The Council deferred action on this item to discuss further at
a capital improvement meeting the costs to open such a facility.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council withdraw the conditional use permit
request as the city is considering a new location for a community recreational
facility. The former Northbound Liquor store site is being reviewed as a
possible opportunity.
