Council motion proclaiming Sunday, June 3, 2012, as Law Enforcement Sunday in the City of Elk River,
Minnesota in conjunction with the prayer service and celebration at Woodcrest Baptist Church.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Mayor Dietz received a request from Woodcrest Baptist Church in Fridley asking that Elk River send a
proclamation to help them honor law enforcement personnel on Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Sunday, June 3, 2012
WHEREAS, Woodcrest Baptist Church in Fridley has designated Sunday, June 3, 2012, as
a day to honor the men and women who serve in law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, law enforcement personnel are dedicated to the communities they serve and
play an essential role in safeguarding our rights and freedoms; and
WHEREAS, law enforcement personnel risk their lives every day to protect our public
safety and private property; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to honor and thank the men and women who serve in law
enforcement for their dedication and service to their communities.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, as Mayor of the City of Elk River, I do
hereby proclaim Sunday, June 3, 2012, as Law Enforcement Sunday in the City of Elk River,
Minnesota in conjunction with the prayer service and celebration at Woodcrest Baptist
Church in Fridley, Minnesota.
