Mayor and Council to present retirement plaque to Firefighter/District Chief Daniel P. Kreuser.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Firefighter/District Chief Daniel P. Kreuser was hired as an on-call firefighter in May 1982. Since that
time, Chief Kreusex has held a number of positions within the department and is currently the district
chief assigned to Station 2. Chief Kreuser has distinguished himself as a dedicated firefighter, leader, and
mentor.
In addition to his position as a city firefighter, he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Elk River
Fire and Ambulance Service. Until recently, he also led the Elk River Fire and Ambulance Service's
Scholarship Committee.
Chief Kreuser's last day with the city was on June 2, 2012. He was recently recognized for 30 years with
the fire department.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Dan Kreuser has retired from the Elk River Fire Department after 30 years of
service to the community; and
WHEREAS, Dan has earned the respect and friendship of his peers, co-workers, and the
community; and
WHEREAS, for his dedicated service to the community, the Elk River City Council, fellow
employees, and citizens of the community extend their sincere appreciation to Dan and wish
him a long, happy, and healthy retirement!
THEREFORE, I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of the City of Elk River, do hereby proclaim Sunday,
June 17, 2012, as DAN KREUSER DAY, in recognition and appreciation of the loyal and
professional service provided by Dan.
