ACTION REQUESTED
Adopt attached resolution acknowledging the $1,680 contribution from the Elk River Lions Club
pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03. Statute requires resolutions to be adopted by a 2/3 majority vote.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Elk River Lions Club donated $1,000 with the intent it be used towards funding electrical work at
Lions Park Center and $680 with the intent it be used to purchase ten "We Support Our Troops"
banners to be hung on the street light poles along Main Street.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Elk River Lions Club donated a total of $1,680.

RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River received a $1,000 donation from the Elk River Lions
Club with the intent it be used towards funding electrical work at Lions Park Center; and
WHEREAS, the Ciry of Elk River received a $680 donation from the Elk River Lions Club
with the intent it be used to purchase 10 "We Support Our Troops" street light banners; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the Ciry of Elk River,
by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend the Elk River Lions
Club for their contributions.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 2nd day of July 2012.
