~pproVe the hiring of Joshua Baas for Park Maintenance Worker beginning Tuesday, Jul~r 10, 2012, at
step ~ of paV grade 6.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In April 2012, Park Maintenance Worker Ross Demant left to ~~ orb for the Cit<- of Otsego. The cit<
advertised and received 1~1 applications for his Vacated position. after thorough consideration, staff
recommends biting Joshua Baas as park maintenance worker.
This is the second summer that Joshua Baas has worked as a seasonal laborer in our parks di~-ision. He
has proven to be a ~-er~- dedicated, motivated, and chilled park employee and we are pleased to be able to
offer him this full-time position.
~Ir. Baas is required to obtain his commercial driver's license b~ January 10, 2013. Provided satisfactory
performance, he will be eligible for anv cost of living adjustment given to city emplo~-ees on Januat-~r 10,
2013, and will be eligible for a step increase on Jule 1, 2013.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a budgeted position.
