ACTION REQUESTED
Adopt resolution appointing election judges for the 2012 Primary and General Elections.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
State law requires election judges to be appointed by the City Council at least 25 days before the election
at which the election judges will serve. Attached is the resolution with the judges listed that have applied
to work the Primary Election on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, and/or the General Election on Tuesday,
November 6, 2012.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Election judges will be paid an hourly wage of $8.50. Head judges receive $10.50 per hour. Wages are
included in the 2012 Election Budget.

RESOLUTION 12-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE 2012 ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 204B.20 and 204B.21, the City Council shall officially
approve the appointment of election judges; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River City Council hereby adopts the judges listed on Exhibit A,
hereto attached, as the official judges for the August 14, 2012, State Primary, and the November 6,
2012, General Election, with the understanding that changes may be necessary to the appointments
in order to fill vacancies and meet party splits.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
Minnesota, that the names listed on Exhibit A, hereto attached, are the official election judges for
the City of Elk River, State Primary on August 14, 2012, and the General Election on November 6,
2012, and the City Council further authorizes the city clerk to appoint additional judges if and where
needed.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 16`" day of July 2012.
