Conditional Use Permit Request
by Norwest Bank
Last week the City Council approved a conditional use permit request for
Norwest Bank to construct a financial institution at the north end of Elk
Park Center. The approval included a condition which allowed no access onto
Jackson Avenue. Following the Council meeting, Norwest Bank called to
inquire if the Council would consider amending their motion approving the
conditional use permit for the financial institution. Norwest is requesting
this for the following reasons:
· They would like the opportunity to have the entire Council review their
application. (Councilmember Holmgren was absent)
· Consider a modification to the proposed entrance off Jackson by limiting
the entrance to a right-in only.
· Take into consideration some of the findings outlined in the amended
traffic study.
Requested Action
If the Council would be willing to discuss with Norwest the possibility of a
right-in off Jackson, the development request would be placed on the June 1st
Council meeting for further discussion. Norwest Bank has indicated a
revised site plan would be presented to the City Council showing a right-in
only off Jackson and making the necessary changes to have the Council
consider amending their motion on approving the conditional use permit.
