Staff recommends the Parks and Recreation Commission support the scoreboard donation from the Elk
River Youth Football Association and assistance for its installation at the Youth Athletic Complex (YAC)
football field.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Staff was approached in March by the Elk River Youth Football Association to install a wireless football
scoreboard at the YAC(Youth Athletic Complex) football field. The Association has been saving for the
scoreboard for the past several years. The price of the scoreboard with two wireless controllers is
$6,325.00.
It is a LED football scoreboard size 4 feet high and 14 feet width with a display height of six feet. The
proposed location of the scoreboard at the football field is attached. The wireless controllers are hand
held units and the City will keep one of the two units purchased. The mounting and installation
requirements were reviewed and approved by the City Engineer.
A final agreement between the Association and the City will make the scoreboard the property of the
City. The scoreboard can be used by the City and other sports groups interested in using the football
field.
