ACTION REQUESTED
Review and discuss Public Presentation Policy.
BACKGROUND /DISCUSSION
On June 11, 2012, Mayor Dietz announced the city had received the designation of Yellow Ribbon
Community and proposed the official announcement take place at one of the city Riverfront Concert
Series events.
The Council further discussed concerns about opening a free public event up for other promotions and
programs and suggested a policy.
City staff and officials from The Bank of Elk River, the principal funding partner for the Riverfront
Concert Series, have reported numerous requests from residents and groups to advertise, provide
information, or promote their activities at city- sponsored events such as the Riverfront Concert Series.
The attached policy draft would apply to all city- sponsored events.
