SUBJECT: Main Street Parking Plaza Changes
Below is a summary of the changes that were incorporated during the construction of the Main
Street parking plaza.
1) Additional Downspout Connection-$910.00
The plans called for the installation of 5 catch basins to be located under the
building downspouts. There were a total of 6 downspouts that needed to have a
catch basin installed. Staff approved a change of$910 to add one additional catch
basin.
2) Upgrade Irrigation Controls-$155.98
Parks Staff requested we install a more advanced controller than what was
specified. This controller will provide the parks maintenance staff to better
control the irrigation system.
3) Paver Repair along Main Street- $430.00
There was additional existing pavers that needed to be reset along Main
Street due to the removal of the front foundation wall from the old buildings.
These pavers and foundations were left in place last winter so the walk would
not have been out of service for a lengthy time period.
4) Stairwell work at the Antiques Building- $1,250.00
This was an anticipated change during the design of the project. It was not
until we removed the concrete from the area that we were able to determine
exactly what needed to be completed. The old basement entrance was filled
in with block and then backfilled with sand.

5) Not Powder Coating Tree Grates— ($400.00)
The contractor indicated the powder coating of the tree grates would only
last a few years then staff would have to repaint or redo the powder coating.
Staff accepted a deduct to leave the tree grates in their natural condition,
rusty, to blend with all of the other grates in the area and reduce future
maintenance.
All of the changes totaled a $2,345.89 increase to the final contract. If you have any
questions on the above listed items please feel free to call me.
