SUBJECT: CenterPoint Minnegasco Grant for the Skatepark
Arnie Hendrickson from CenterPoint Energy Minnegaso will be here to present a $1,500
check to the city for the skatepark in Lions Park. We applied for a grant in mid-August to
help pay for the equipment at the park.
This is a new pilot grant program for cities served by the company. They offered grants to
cities for significant and planned special projects that have community support and meet
specific program criteria. The grants are targeted at public space enhancements and public
safety equipment. In 2003, the company planned to make grants of up to $2,500 to 50
communities in its service territory. We feel extremely lucky to be one of the recipients.
This brings the total donations received to date for equipment to approximately $12,850.
The skatepark group has been fundraising since April of this year.
