Action Requested
Approval of a special event permit to Elk River Youth Volleyball for a 5K walk/run scheduled for
September 8, 2012,with the following conditions:
1. Applicant shall be responsible for garbage clean-up.
2. No paint allowed anywhere on trails. Chalk or cones may be used.
3. Applicant must contact Police Captain Ron Nierenhausen (763.635.1202) at least three weeks
prior to event to arrange for police reserves.
Background/Discussion
Elk River Youth Volleyball is requesting to host a 5K walk/run on Saturday, September 8,2012. Below is
a synopsis of the request:
• The 5K run/walk will begin and end at Elk River High School.
• The event begins at 8 a.m. and goes until noon.
• Elk River Youth Volleyball is expecting a minimum of 500 participants,volunteers, and
spectators.
This request is similar to events held by Salk Middle School.
