0. ATTENDANCE

I. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
The June 6, 2012,meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by Captain Nierenhausen.
2. CONSIDER AGENDA
No changes to the agenda were made.
3. APPROVE MINUTES FROM MAY 16, 2012
Moved by Mayor Dietz and seconded by Councilmember Gumphrey to approve the
minutes from May 16, 2012.
4. OPEN FORUM
No one appeared for Open Forum.
5. DISCUSSION TOPICS
5.1. Recap May 16th meeting with the Elk River Fire Department
The Task Force discussed the department-wide meeting held on May 16th.
The Task Force agreed that communication is important. The firefighters on the Task
Force are in a position to bring information back to the organization as a whole.
Chief Cunningham and City Administrator Portner will be meeting with the officers in
the near future to discuss the Duty Officer program.
No action items were brought forward by the Task Force.
5.2. Update on citywide reorganization
Chief Cunningham presented an update on the citywide reorganization,including the
changes made to the fire department structure (Building Safety Division and Code
Enforcement).

5.3. Subcommittee Discussions/Breakout
The Task Force continues to conduct background research,including assembling job
descriptions from like cities. The next meeting will be focused on summarizing the data
and information to ultimately create a new organizational chart, job descriptions and
succession plan.
6. ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION
Discussion was held about the timeline of the Task Force and bringing forth its
findings/report. The consensus was to work towards a fall/end-of-year time frame.
7. DISCUSS FUTURE AGENDA
The next meeting of the Task Force will be held on Wednesday,July 18, 2012. The Task
Force will look at conducting a day session in the fall.
8. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Chief Cunningham invited the Task Force to observe the Technical Rescue Team's
confined space training over the weekend of June 15`h and 166
.
9. ADJOURNMENT
The June 6, 2012,meeting of the Fire Service Task Force adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
