CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
Dear Mr. Klaers:
Enclosed is a change order for the Business Center Drive improvement project, currently
being constructed by Richard Knutson, Inc. The change order is in the amount of
$1,995.60 and covers two items. The first is the overtime charges of $1,485.00 for
installing the watermain and sanitary sewer on the west side of the Sherburne County
administration Building on Saturday. As we had discussed before, we asked the
Contractor to do this work on Saturday to minimize the disruption to the County activities
during the work week. The Contractor worked approximately 13.5 hours. The lump sum
charge of $1,485.00 is equivalent to $110.00 per hour for manpower overtime charges to
do this work on a Saturday. The second item is a change that was requested by Bryan
Adams to the street lighting. The original design had one photocell, which controlled all
of the lights. Mr. Adams asked that the lights be changed to have individual photocells
on each fixture. That change resulted in an increase of $510.60. The total of these two
is $1,995.60.
We have reviewed the costs submitted by Richard Knutson, Inc. for these two items and
would recommend approval by the City of Elk River. If you have any questions
