ACTION REQUESTED
1. Council to interview two applicants for the Arena Commission.
2. Council motion to appoint the following:
a) DeAnn Givens as Skating Club representative with term expiration of February 28, 2013
b) Brian Ballenger as Youth Hockey representative with term expiration of February 28, 2014
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
City policy is to interview all applicants for Boards/Commissions. This gives the Council a chance to
meet new board members and to understand their goals.
Ice Arena Commission
Council recently approved an ordinance amendment relating to Arena membership to allowing one
representative designated by the Youth Hockey Association and one representative designated by the
Skating Club.
There are two vacancies on the Arena Commission.Two applications were received and both applicants
stated they will attend the meeting to interview.
Planning Commission
There is one vacancy on the Planning Commission. Staff received one application for this position;
however,the applicant stated he is no longer interested in serving on the Commission. This vacancy will
continue to be advertised.
