SUBJECT: Downtown Task Force Plan and Presentation
The Downtown Task Force was convened in November, 2011 to develop a plan to address
changes to the core of the city brought on by Highway 10 modifications anticipated over the
next several decades. The plan has evolved into a strategy to strengthen the core area as an
asset for Elk River.
On September 4th,the public review period of the Downtown Task Force's Mississippi
Connections plan commenced with an overview presentation to the City Council and Housing
and Redevelopment Authority.
The Parks and Recreation Commission is the fourth stop on the plans tour of the Boards
and Commissions. Commissioners are not asked to act on the plan; rather, any comments
generated should be forwarded to the Downtown Task Force by September 24`h. An Open
House is also scheduled for September 13th for the public to review and learn about the plan.
Note cards will be available at the meeting. Any comments may also be emailed to my
attention.
A co-chair from the Task Force will be in attendance to give a presentation of the plan.
