ACTION REQUESTED
Council motion approving a special event permit to Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) for a 2K
and a 5K run/walk scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2012,with the following conditions:
1. Applicant shall be responsible for garbage clean-up immediately following the event.
2. Walkers/runners are to utilize sidewalks, trail systems, or road shoulders throughout the entire
route. No road closures will be permitted. It is each runner's responsibility to ensure the
streets/intersections are safe prior to crossing.
3. ECFE shall designate race marshals to monitor the race route and participants.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
ECFE is requesting to host a 2K and a 5K run/walk on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Below is a synopsis
of the request:
• The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m.
• The event is open to the public. ECFE is expecting approximately 150 participants.
• Following the event there will be a gathering of participants at Handke for snacks, beverages,
and an inflatable moon bounce in their nature playground.
