SUBJECT: Sidewalk Snowplowing Routes
Attached is a map that identifies the sidewalks that will be plowed on day #1 or day #2
following a snowstorm, along with a list of sidewalks that have been plowed in past years that
I recommend eliminating. It is my intention to have the sidewalks near the schools and the
most heavily used pedestrian ways plowed first, and the light traffic sidewalks on the second
day. The sidewalks that are to be eliminated are mainly Iow volume, dead ends, or residential
in nature that we have plowed in past years.
Due to budget constraints and the number of sidewalks that have recently come on line, it
would be impossible to plow all of these sidewalks with only one sidewalk plow.
I will be on hand at the council meeting to answer any questions.
