Also opening in 2012, Cherrywood of Big Lake, provides skilled nursing in a small, 10- resident house focused on giving each resident maximum choice in how they live each day. The first of three phases will open three lots for development, ranging in size from 1 - 10 acres. Jaeger Construction built the � z 186,000 square foot expansion to add warehouse space. The investment in pre-treatment will enable the company to expand production capacity on site. The project represents a cooperative effort involving Liberty Paper and a number of community partners. Sherburne County, the City of Becker and Little Falls-based Initiative Foundation convened a variety of potential funding partners, including the St. Paul Port Authority. The Port provided unique expertise related to anaerobic digesters and energy generation and played a critical role in financing the project. The facility is the largest single capital investment LPI has made since the paper mill was opened 1/3 10/24/12 Sherburne County Economic Development in 1995. The official groundbreaking for the project occurred in April 2012, and the wastewater facility should be fully operational by mid-December 2012. Liberty Paper Incorporated (LPI) has operated a state-of-the-art paper mill in Becker, Minn. since 1995. A part of the Liberty Diversified International family, LPI is very active in the local community and employs approximately 135 people. According to Cherrywood Advanced Living, LLC, caregivers are more highly certified than traditional assisted living facilities, and provide a wider range of care through end-of-life, in a resident's private suite. The property is zoned light industrial with retail, commercial, light industrial and warehouse use permitted. Located near US Highway 10 and 171st Avenue, the site offers excellent access to US Highways 10 and 169 as well as the Northstar Commuter Rail Station in Elk River.
