Approve hiring Suzanne Fischer as Community Operations and Development Director with pay and
benefits as outlined below.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On Monday,November 5, 2012, the City Council interviewed two candidates for the Community
Operations and Development Director position. Staff was directed to negotiate with Suzanne Fischer for
this position.
Ms. Fischer has passed her background checks and her references were glowing. She is prepared to begin
working sometime between Monday,December 17,2012, and Wednesday,January 2, 2013. She will be
able to provide a more definite start date in the near future.
Ms. Fischer would begin at step C of pay grade 16 and accrue vacation at the rate of three weeks per year.
All future pay increases and benefits will be consistent with city policy. The city will reimburse Ms.
Fischer for up to $2,000 of moving related expenses.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds were reserved for this position in the 2012 contingency.
