• What Can Energy Star' Qualified LED Holiday Lights Do for me?
1 . LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are very energy efficient and use up to 90% less energ
than an incandescent bulb to produce the same amount of light.
2. The amount of electricity consumed by just one 7-watt incandescent bulb could powE
140 LEDs
3. LEDs do not have moving parts, filaments or glass, so they are much more durable E.
shock resistant than your old incandescent strands.
4. LEDs are cool to the touch regardless of how long they are left on.
5. LEDs can last up to 10 times longer than traditional incandescent strands.
6. LEDs are available in a variety of colors, shapes, and lengths.
7. Please recycle your old holiday lights by simply dropping them off at City Hall (13065
Orono Parkway) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. through December 24th.
Note: Energy savings will depend on size of lights replaced (mini/icicle, C7, or large C9).
