Board Members Absent: Mary Eberley,Kathleen Tracy,Nick Zerwas, City Council Board Liaison
Others Present: Mick Stoffers, Branch Manager
1. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Public Library Board was
called to order at 5:27 p.m. by. Jayne Dietz.
It was determined a quorum was present
2. Consider Library Board Agenda
Willie Jackson MOVED AND Jayne Dietz SICONDED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA
AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 3-0. s
3. Consider Secretary's Report
Willie Jackson MOVED AND Nicole Novotny SECONDED TO APPROVE THE
MEETING MINUTES FROM THE July 24,2012 MEETING AS PRESENTED.
MOTION PASSED 3-0.
Correction: Mick Stoffers last day will be October 31,2012.
4. Consider Treasurer's Report.
Willie Jackson MOVED AND Jayne Dietz SECONDED TO APPROVE THE
TREASURER'S REPORT AND FINANCIALS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY AND
AUGUST AND YEAR TO DATE FINANCIALS AS PRESENTED.
MOTION PASSED 3-0.
5. Librarian's Report—Mick Stoffers.
The Board acknowledged the Librarian's report.
Old Business
a. Plaques in the Rain Garden will follow the same format of the new city signage.
b. Pavers in the driveway were fixed, cost was $6600.

c. Flag Pole Light is repaired and working. Plaque has been moved to be more visible
• and area has been cleaned up to enhance area.
d. Friends of the Library appreciation was held September 20th
New Business
1. Invite Tim Simon from the City to come to the board meeting to discuss financials.
2. Budget to enhance Rain Gardens with new plantings and appropriate signage for
2013.
3. Look into less abrasive eco friendly materials to use on pavers outside for the winter.
4. Informational tour of the library during September meeting to be rescheduled.
5. Mick will be retiring October 31St after 28years at the Elk River Library.
a. Celebration in her honor to be held October 10th from 4pm to 6pm at the Elk
River Library Community Room.
b. Extra library help was requested for the day of the event. Board members will
help host the event.
c. Board members not able to attend the day of the event please contact Jayne Dietz.
Adjournment.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned at 6:00pm
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday,November 27th at 5:00pm.
