Appoint Suzanne Fischer, Community Operations Development Director, as the Interim EDA Executive
Director.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Director of Economic Development Annie Deckert has resigned effective January 11, 2012.
The appointment of an Executive Director is suggested at the Annual Meeting of the EDA and
historically, the Executive Director of the EDA has been the Director of Economic Development.
Suzanne Fischer started work with the City of Elk River on January 2, 2013,as the city's first Community
Operations and Development (CODD) Director. The new department director oversees the following
six divisions: Economic Development, Engineering, Environmental Services,Planning, Street
Maintenance and Wastewater Treatment Operations.
We recommend the EDA appoint Suzanne Fischer as the Interim Executive Director and that the EDA
revisit the topic once the position of Director of Economic Development has been filled.
