Hot Topic(s) of the Month
The Parks and Recreation Department maintains six outdoor ice rinks throughout the City.
Two of these rinks have warming houses including Lions Park and Handke stadium which
are supervised evenings and weekends. Both of these parks offer skating/hockey rinks as
well as sledding hills. The East hockey rink at Handke stadium can be rented by groups
through the Parks and Recitation office.

December Recap:
• Activity Center Members Only party was held on December 10tk. Despite the
snowstorm and cold weather, 163 attended. Totals of 132 pounds of food and$237
were collected for CAER food shelf.
• Successful Pickleball demonstration was held at Lions Park Center. Regular sessions
of Pickleball will begin on Wednesdays in January.
• Special Holiday classes included Gift Bag Making, Card Making and Holiday Photo
Class. All were well attended.
• December trips included TourCo's Annual Christmas party, Crossroads Mall
shopping trip and Macy's Holiday display with American Swedish Institute visit.
