6. SWCSR 11-29-2012 SWTV19 Production Report
We had an event-full summer!
Our movies in the park events were mostly
successful,however, out of 18 movies
scheduled,we canceled three, added two and . -f y
had a few rain outs-Monticello and Delano. The :. v<
rain seemed to wait until we were all set up.
Thanks to the volunteers,we were able to pack ' - A
the equipment away before any damage y , -, 7. ,;,j.
occurred. We did three events partnered with ',
the schools, two in Delano and one in Rockford. - ;
They were impressed with the equipment and "'
would like to try to do movies again next year.
Hopefully not Despicable Me. I loved the
movie but after seven or eight times...

As usual, our summer had 9 parades. Things went k * flit OF
pretty well. I ended up editing two parades. One °'
because of power issues-we blew the breaker just
as the parade got to us.The other parade had a
twenty five minute gap between participants. Our announcers did a wonderful job filling the time sre,. ,:
row
with historical information about the parade and
festivities, but that many crowd shots would have a
been very boring. # ,Y

Elk River supplied us with four more concerts. I really like doing r ,
concerts and hope we can continue to produce them. This year Governor r R
I 77
Dayton visited one of the concerts and gave a speech before the band 1.7 . tS
played. I'm proud to say, thanks to Bill, the Governor has an SWTV 19 °" ;, i.

Coronations were up by one this year. For a total of five. I
edited Maple Lake's ambassador coronation. The footage was ,
supplied by their producer. It was a single camera with poor
audio. Next year I'm going to get in contact with the
ambassador organizers and make it a trailer shoot. If there is a
video during the coronation, it seems that we end up editing,
we are working on getting feeds from their playback devices.

We taped six football games and four soccer
matches.Announcers seem to be the most
t
difficult volunteers to get.At the Buffalo 44
game we mic'd up the KRWC announcer and ilk`
edited out the commercials.At the Delano =am : ,' . ' •. 1.
game we were able to recruit Tom Emmer to ,_._ "t
announce for us and he volunteered to ' a 't `
announce Delano Hockey games and Girls K

Election season. We taped two political forums and I helped Delano with cameras. They have 3
cameras out for repair, I brought in 3 cameras and tripods and hooked them into their system for their
council forum.
Volunteers this summer have been a little hit and -414
miss. We lost a couple of long time very
experienced volunteers due to job changes, and all
my kids are now living out of state. But we picked
up an enthusiastic young man from Rockford,he's n _
been a good addition to the team. Of course Tom
from Buffalo always comes through, and now we
have a couple of students from Monticello Higher --
School who seem really eager to help.
One interesting addition was another student from Monticello. He has a motorized wheelchair and has
limited movement, but he was really excited to help us with the soccer shoot. We had his father's
permission, and an injured player protecting him. We mounted a camera to his wheelchair, taped a
zoom control to his chair controller and stuck a headset on his head and let him go. We were impressed
with his ability to control his chair and follow the ball. After a little while, he seemed to get it, and to
know where he needed to be.
I'm working on promo's, s-
bumpers and station ID's c'° tw n ,R

Buffalo Wine and Spirits wanted to do some
promotions of their wine and liquor tastings events.
I've done one already and I'm working on another. I
will be a great hardship, going to the tastings to get

footage for these promos. I am also planning on a or;
longer interview promo with the manager explaining ,t
the events in more detail.

The buffalo police department asked that I edit video from an incident to be used as a training tool.
The footage was obtained from several dashboard cameras, the 911 and radio recordings and a taser
camera. The police sergeant provided the time line and I assembled the various video and audio
elements in to a chronological video.
City Works Series
The water video is very close to being finished, maybe 3 or 4 minutes. We are at the meat of the video,
but there are some inaccuracies with the script as I wrote it. I do not fully understand how bonding
works for funding projects. And will need some help with it.
We were talking about doing an elections video, but quickly learned the worst time to do an elections
video is during election season.
I've started collecting footage for a road repair and construction video. I have bullet points supplied by
Luke and a very rough outline.
We got both trailers serviced this summer. The production trailer needed new brake solenoids. It seems
that with the amount of city driving that we do,and the weight of the trailer causes unusual ware on the
brakes. The movie trailer needed 2 new tires, also, during the decal installation, some of the paint
started flaking off of the back door of the movie trailer. I brought it to Buffalo Trailer Sales and after
about a three month process, they replaced the panels under warranty.
Other than that, there were no problems.
